De Eutelsat W4 satelliet verzorgt
met 19 transponders een signaal welke in heel west Rusland. Daarnaast verzorgt
deze satelliet met zijn stuurbare beam een signaal welke geheel Afrika bedekt.
Hierdoor wordt deze satelliet veel gebruikt voor telefonie, internet en data
verbindingen tussen Europa en deze twee continenten. Daarnaast worden veel
incidentele verbindingen(feeds) via deze satelliet uitgestraald.
