EUROBIRD™ 3, previously called e-BIRD, offers capacity for broadband and broadcast services in Europe.

Optimised for interactive broadband services and valued by broadcasters for occasional use and professional video services, EUROBIRD™ 3 is positioned at 33° East.

With 22 Ku-band transponders, 20 of which it will be able to operate simultaneously throughout its 10 year lifetime, the satellite will deliver cost-effective 2-way broadband Internet services. The transponders are connected to 4 spot beams over Europe and Turkey. These 4 beams overlap to allow hubs located in the hot spots of each beam to communicate with each other, thus ensuring highly effective pan-European coverage.

With its proximity to EUROBIRD™ 1 at 28.5° East,
EUROBIRD™ 3 is also perfectly positioned for bundling digital TV and broadband services that can be received by small domestic antennas.
