Tested from Mulhouse in Ku-band,
Pleumeur Bodou in C-band and from Southern France in X-band. It entered service
for the Olympic Games and then it was re-tested in eclipse period. Finaly it was
positioned in 8°W
In Jul 1999 the satellite was incorporated in the
Eutelsat fleet. The partnership between France Telecom and Eutelsat will
last till the end of the nominal lifetime of the satellite, anticipated in 2005. This agreement will enable Eutelsat to take over the 11 Ku-band transponders of
